Lachine Canal National Historic Site
You like fishing? You will be happy to know that it’s possible to do urban fishing at the Lachine Canal National Historic Site as well as in many other locations around Montreal. The summer season is here, and a great way to enjoy the sunshine is to take your fishing rod along the Lachine Canal.
How to get there?
- Using public transport.
- By bike, you can use the cycling path.
Safety instructions
- No fishing is permitted within 10 meters of a lock, an approach wharf or over a bridge that spans the canal.
- Eat fishes with moderation. Because of contaminated sediments layer in the bottom of the canal, legacy of the industrial period.
