Fort Lennox National Historic Site
You can get to Fort Lennox National Historic Site by a variety of transportation options and routes detailed below.
Upon arrival at the Visitor Centre, Parks Canada staff will guide you on the ferry ride to the fort on Île aux Noix.
Directions
By car
- From Montreal: Take Highway 15 south (Airport/Highway 15 south/Highway 20 east/Champlain Bridge/Toronto), take exit 6 to QC-132/La Prairie/New York, follow Marie-Victorin Boulevard/Highway 15 south, use the left lane to take the Highway 15 south/QC-132 west ramp to La Prairie/U. S.A., continue on Autoroute 15 South/QC-132 West, take exit 21 for QC-221/QC-219 (toward Napierville/Sherrington), turn left onto Rang Sainte-Marguerite/QC-219 North/QC-221 South and follow the signs to Fort Lennox National Historic Site.
- From Quebec City: Take highway 20 west (Montreal/Rivière-du-Loup), take exit 98 for highway 30 towards Vaudreuil-Dorion/Sorel-Tracy/Airport, merge onto highway 30 west and continue, take exit 67 to Boulevard de Rome, follow the signs to highway 10 eastbound/Sherbrooke/Vermont/I-89, merge onto highway 10 eastbound, take exit 22 for highway 35 southbound to Vermont, follow highway 35 southbound, take exit 43 for QC-223/Boul. du Séminaire towards downtown, turn right onto QC-223 south and follow the signs to Fort Lennox National Historic Site.
Parking
There is a free parking lot right next to the Visitor Centre at 1 61st Avenue in St-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix.
Shuttle
A shuttle boat is included in the entrance fee during opening hours to get on the island.
By bus or heavy vehicle
Directions are the same as by car. There is free parking for buses, heavy vehicles and RVs. It is located right next to the visitor center at 1 61st Avenue in St. Paul de l'Île-aux-Noix.
By bike
The Fort Lennox National Historic Site is accessible by various bicycle paths and trails. A bike rack is located just outside the visitor center at 1 61st Avenue in St. Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix.
Watercraft
It is prohibited to operate a watercraft and land at the docks located on Île aux Noix and belonging to Fort Lennox National Historic Site. In addition, watercraft launches from Fort Lennox National Historic Site are strictly prohibited.
Landing on the shoreline of Île aux Noix at Fort Lennox National Historic Site is not recommended as there are no facilities available and it is imperative that the shoreline be preserved to protect the wildlife.
