Reception at the Manor guided tour

Activities:

  • Guided tour of the main floor of Manoir Papineau, the magnificent seigneurial manor once owned by Louis-Joseph Papineau.
  • Guided tour of the gardens.
  • Presentation of the world of Mr. Papineau, politician and seigneur de la Petite-Nation, and the history of his family.
  • Tea tasting.
  • Guide in period costume.

Château-Manor stroll guided tour

Activities include:

  • Guided tour of the majestic and authentic home of the famous politician Louis-Joseph Papineau.
  • Guided tour of the Fairmont Le Château Montebello hotel, one of the world’s largest log structures.

Target audience: this experience is intended for adults and is offered exclusively when booking at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello (for a snack, meal or overnight stay)

A trip to Montebello guided tour New in 2024-2025

Activities include:

  • Guided tour of Louis-Joseph Papineau’s manor, built in 1848.
  • Presentation of the history of the seigneury of La Petite-Nation.
  • Discovering the Ottawa River’s importance as a vital and indispensable waterway in 19th-century Canada.
  • Taking part in a fun game that takes students on the journey from Montreal to Louis-Joseph Papineau’s manor through physical, intellectual and creative challenges.
  • Learning about life, technology, fashion, history and culture in the mid-19th century.

Target audience: youth (ages 12-17)
