“A trip to Montebello” guided tour
Suggested content: students will learn more about the magnificent Manoir of Louis-Joseph Papineau, an important political figure, and the bourgeois life in the 19th century.
- Guided tour of the Manoir and outdoor site
- Presentation of the history of the Petite-Nation seigneury
- Explanation of the importance of the Ottawa River as an essential navigation route in 19th-century life
- Team games to discover bourgeois life
- Exploration of technology, fashion, history and culture in the mid-19th century
Target groups: grades 5 and 6 of elementary school, and high school
Languages: English and French
Length of visit: 90 minutes
