Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site

Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site is temporarily closed to the general public for the season. The site welcomes school groups for guided tours from September to October and May to June. See details.

Discover the life of the workers and masters of the forges who provided for the colony's needs from 1730 to 1883. Let the history of the site and the legends that have been passed down from generation to generation soak you in.

No access

For safety and conservation reasons, the industrial valley area between the upper and lower forges and the trails in this area are closed. The trails leading to the Saint-Maurice River are also closed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Stop by the blast furnace and the Ironmaster’s House to see a host of cast-iron objects made in the 18th and 19th centuries.
