The Forges du Saint-Maurice guided tour
Suggested content: students will learn more about the history of Canada's first industrial village, and the legends of the Forges that extend far beyond iron and flames.
- Guided tour of the outdoor site and buildings
- Interpretation of change in a society and a territory
- Presentation of the different dwellings at the time of the industrial village
- Presentation of the steps involved in making cast-iron objects used in battles and everyday life
- Team participation in the interactive activity 1600°C Trial by fire

Reading the digital comic book "Le mystère des Forges" (in French only)
Suggested content: students will discover the lighthearted presentation of the Forges du Saint-Maurice through the playful sketches and dialogues in the second of three comic books, “Le mystère des Forges” (in French only), produced as part of a collaboration between Culture Trois-Rivières (in Frenc only) and Parks Canada.
Target groups: grades 3 to 6 of elementary school, and high school

Pre-reading preparation (optional): consult the workbooks intended for elementary school teachers (grades 2 to 6) and high school teachers, and the a>workbooks for students. They can be downloaded for free on the “La Saga des Trois-Rivières” (in French only).
Good to know: the second volume, “Le mystère des Forges”, is part of the digital comic trilogy “La Saga des Trois-Rivières” which students can also read freely online on the "La Saga des Trois-Rivières” website (in French only).
Parks Canada is offering a series of free online workshops throughout the school year for elementary and high school students. Subjects covered: history, outdoors and nature & heritage conservation.
