Wildlife safety

Watching animals in their native habitat can be a memorable part of your visit to a national park. Fundy National Park is home to many animals including black bear, coyote, moose, and deer. For your safety and theirs we ask that you please keep your distance and keep the “wild” in wildlife by abiding by the following rules:

• Keep a safe distance when observing wildlife
• Do not feed the wildlife
• Keep picnic areas and campsites clean and store food in your vehicle or in animal-proof containers

Feeding wildlife is strictly forbidden - animals that are fed will expect handouts and can become aggressive towards people.

Releasing exotic wildlife in the park is also prohibited. Exotic wildlife is all forms of wildlife that are not native to the habitat within the park. Some wildlife, such as turtles, live in other parts of the province but not in Fundy National Park. Here, the habitat is unsuitable for exotic species to survive.
