Qausuittuq National Park

Qausuittuq National Park is a complex and remote park to reach. Currently, the park is only accessible by chartered aircraft. All visitors will start their trip from Resolute Bay, Nunavut.


Getting to Resolute Bay from Canadian cities

Visitors must start their trip into Qausuittuq from Resolute Bay. Canadian North offers regular, year-round flight service to Resolute Bay from Iqaluit, Nunavut. Travelers can fly directly to Iqaluit from Ottawa, Montreal, or Yellowknife with the same airline.

Getting to Qausuittuq National Park from Resolute Bay

Visitors can only access Qausuittuq from Resolute Bay through private, chartered aircraft. Parks Canada does not offer any transportation services into Qausuittuq. Kenn Borek Air offers charters directly from Resolute Bay to the park. Visitors are encouraged to make their travel arrangements well in advance as charter companies are busy during the summer months.

Costs for chartered flights will vary depending on the price of fuel and other factors. Visitors should anticipate a return flight from Resolute Bay to Qausuittuq National Park to cost approximately $10,000 CAD.

Delays and cancellations

All visitors must be prepared for delays and cancellations, both when attempting to travel to Qausuittuq National Park and when attempting to depart. Delays and cancellations can be caused by different factors such as poor weather conditions. Normal delays might last a day or two, although significantly longer delays are possible.

All visitors must ensure they have adequate supplies, including any prescribed medication, to accommodate unplanned travel delays in this remote park.
