Improvements and infrastructure
Qausuittuq National Park
What to know before you visit
Parks Canada is enhancing Qausuittuq National Park with various infrastructure improvements. Because of the park's remote location, these projects are unlikely to impact visitors. Below is a brief list of past and ongoing projects.
Dome Camp
Located on Erskine Inlet along the western part of Bathurst Island, Dome Camp features two hard-sided dome structures, a storage shed, and a toilet room equipped with a honey bucket and WAG Bags. This camp primarily supports park operations and clean-up projects.
One of the shelters is open to the public, serving as a base camp or an entry/exit point for exploring the area. Emergency supplies are available, and authorized aircraft can land at this location.
Dundee Bight
Dundee Bight offers two hard-sided cabins, a toilet room, a storage shed, and an outdoor change room/shower. This camp supports park operations, special projects, long-term ecological monitoring, and community use, while also providing access for visitors. One of the cabins is available for public use and emergencies.
