You and your pets
Point Pelee National Park
We love animals and realize your pet is an important family member. However, for the security of your pet and the security of others, pets must be kept on a leash at all times, must never be left unattended and must never be left in a vehicle alone.
Pets pose a threat to wildlife, especially young animals and birds that nest on the ground.
Staying on trail with your pets reduces the risk of ticks and poison ivy.
Your dog is welcome to join you in the Visitor Centre, along all trails and on the shuttle to the tip.
There is no off leash area in the park.
Etiquette While in the Park
- Avoid any situation where your dog could bother other visitors
- Prevent your dog from disturbing the wildlife - This includes barking at wildlife
- Clean up after your dog as you would in any public place; and dispose of your dog’s excrement in a sanitary manner
