The park Kiosk is located at the entrance of the Hattie Cove Campground. When arriving to the park, visitors can connect with park staff at this location during operating hours.

The park kiosk provides the following services:

• Merchandise sales

Park staff located at the Kiosk are your information experts. Consult with staff for everything from best picnic areas to program offerings. The Kiosk also features a brochure rack complete with visitor guides and self-registration forms.

Frequently asked questions

• Are there onsite laundry facilities?

  Yes, the laundry facilities are located at the south loop comfort station. The machines are coin operated requiring one-dollar coins, change is available at the Park Kiosk.

   

• Where can I purchase propane?

  Canadian Tire, sells cylinders and refills propane cylinders. Cylanders are also available for purchase at gas stations in Marathon. No where in town fills tanks built into trailers.

   

• Where is the closest place to purchase ice?

  Twance’s Groceries in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, Cando's Corner on Hwy. 627 Biigtigong Nishnaabeg.

   

• Where is the nearest church?

  There is a Catholic church on Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and various churches in Marathon.

   

• Where is the nearest grocery store?

  There is Twance's Groceries in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, Cando's Corner on Hwy. 627 adjacent to Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, and two larger grocery stores in Marathon.

   

• Where can I see wildlife?

  Along any day trails and backcountry areas along the Coastal Hiking Trail. Wildlife viewing is never guaranteed.

   

• Where is the trailer dumping station?

  It is located near the Administration Building and is indicated on the map in the visitor guide. No products treated chemically are allowed to be dumped. Use of biological treatment is strongly encouraged.

   

• Where can I obtain potable water to fill my trailer?

  Potable water is available between May 15 and October 15, weather dependant, by the South Loop comfort station. There is a long blue hose in front of the building that can attach to a trailer to fill their tanks.

   

• Can I drink the water?

  Yes, you can drink the potable water from the taps provided in the campground and day use area. It is tested daily. If there is a problem, we will post signs indicating that the water requires boiling before consumption. We recommend that lake water be boiled for at least two minutes before drinking or treated using fine filtration.

   

• Do we offer a recycling program in the Park?

  Yes. Recycling bins are in each campground loop next to the comfort station; they are inside the garbage sheds. We recycle pop cans, steel food cans, paper, boxboard, cardboard, and plastics #1 and #2. To not attract wild animals, such as black bears, to our recycling bins, please ensure items are clean before depositing. Special attention should be given to cleaning food cans and cardboard. We are not currently able to recycle glass.  There is a metal locker that used propane cylinders can be deposited in’ it is painted yellow and located next to the garbage sheds.

   

• Are pets allowed in the Park?
  Yes. Pets must be kept on a leash of less than three metres, at all times, for their own protection and for the protection of others. There is no veterinary service for over 300 km, so please help to protect your pet from an avoidable encounter with wildlife. Pet owners are responsible for picking up excrement.
