Book ahead of time

Learn which places to visit and plan in advance to avoid disappointment. There is a limit to the number of visitors admitted into these two parks for safety and resource protection reasons.

Reserve your parking spot before you arrive at the Grotto or Halfway Log Dump. These are very popular places and parking lots fill up early in the morning each day. Once these lots are full, there is no access to any of the shoreline, hiking trails or other day-use areas in the park.

Book your visit at Flowerpot Island, a popular spot with limited availability! Boat tours are a great way to see the famous flowerpots or the shipwrecks from a glass bottom boat. Note that not all vessels will stop at Flowerpot Island; check carefully before booking.

Avoid the crowds

Nothing like an off-season visit! Escape the crowds, traffic jams and crowded parking lots by planning your stay midweek in May, June, September or October. Looking for a winter adventure?
