Announcement – Movement of personnel within the PCX Community

Dear colleagues,

I would like to share with you changes to the PCX community effective August 29, 2024.

Appointment of Karine Renoux, Executive Director, Strategic Workplace Management, Human Resources and Employee Wellness Directorate

Karine joined Parks Canada in March 2022 as Director, Executive Services & Organizational Management. Lawyer by profession, she held various roles at Treasury Board including Senior Analyst for constitutional litigation concerning freedom of association and Collective Bargaining Negotiator. With nearly ten years of professional experience in human resources, Karine occupied leadership roles in labour relations, occupational health and safety, disability management, official languages, employment equity, staffing, classification as well as learning and recognition.

Over the past year, Karine has been acting in the position of Executive Director, Strategic Workplace Management. Her indeterminate appointment is a result of her qualification through a selection process for this position.

With the upcoming departure of Réa McKay, Karine has kindly accepted to act as Vice-President, Human Resources and Employee Wellness Directorate until further notice.

Deployment of Omar McDadi, Director, Enterprise Integration and Initiative Management, Strategic Policy, Business and Digital Services Directorate

Omar joined Parks Canada in 2004 as a student biologist in Kootenay, Yoho and Banff national parks, where he tracked bighorn sheep and delivered many school programs. Over the years, he has gained a wide array of professional experiences throughout Canada working as a biologist, educator, writer, guide, professional communicator, and program manager.

As the Field Unit Superintendent of Rouge National Urban Park since 2018, Omar led significant deliverables related to building visitor and educational facilities, implementing species-at-risk programming, promoting a vibrant farming community, preserving the park’s rich cultural heritage, and co-developing park plans with Indigenous partners.

Please join me in wishing each of them all the best with their new role.
