One Trail: The Saoyú and Ɂehdacho Directions-Confirming Workshop (2005)

One Trail: Facilitator’s Report on the Sahyoue and Edacho Directions-Confirming Workshop presents the results of a 2005 workshop in which the general vision and preferred option for protecting and managing Saoyuì and Ɂehdacho were identified. Representatives of the Délįnę Elders, the Délįnę First Nation, the Délįnę Land Corporation, the Délįnę Renewable Resources Council, the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Government of the Northwest Territories, Parks Canada and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society met in Délįnę to identify a general management vision for Saoyuì and Ɂehdacho and to identify a process by which specific permanent protection, an acceptable management authority and long-term management funding might be discussed and resolved.
