Originally a project and now a popular outdoor destination, La Mauricie National Park has continued to evolve and be updated over the decades. Every year, new features and improvements are added that our visitors appreciate, whether they have been coming to the park since it opened or are visiting for the first time.

Part of Parks Canada’s vast network, La Mauricie National Park protects a portion of the Canadian Shield and is an example of a Laurentian forest. Although the park will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2020, the history of the land goes back much further. Whether using the land as a place of passage, work or leisure, humans have left their mark and, in some cases, have changed the landscape for a long time to come.
