Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve
The jewel of Minganie that is the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve was established in 1984 with the objective of preserving the unique natural and cultural resources of this beautiful area. The floristic diversity of this mid-Nordic insular environment, as well as the thousands of seabirds and shorebirds present on the islands to feed and nest, have always been captivating. Discover or rediscover these natural treasures while enjoying the unique landscape offered by erosion monoliths.

Since its creation, the Conservation service has supported Parks Canada's mission by ensuring the protection and restoration of the ecological integrity of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve, while allowing visitors to explore this beautiful place.

Wildlife
The Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve is characterized by a mosaic of several ecosystems that are neighbouring each other on small islands. Accessible by sea or by air, the environmental conditions offered by these habitats allow the coexistence of an important diversity of terrestrial, coastal and marine animal species. Some are just visiting residents frequenting the area for food or nesting, while others live on the islands permanently.

Flora
The islands of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve have rich terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems that offer, to a wide variety of plants, a mosaic of habitats adapted to their needs. The park reserve has long been recognized as being host to even a larger amount of plant species than what characterizes the Minganie coast. Thanks to these natural treasures, the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve has often been called the "Galapagos Islands" of the north.
