Burrow into a one-of-a-kind Saskatchewan backcountry birding experience! Join our knowledgeable team of experts as you journey to the wild habitat of Burrowing Owls in their summer playground in Grasslands National Park.

You and eleven others will be guided by park staff to a remote prairie dog colony where Burrowing Owls are spending their summer, raising their young, and enriching a wild prairie ecosystem.

Be prepared to hike 10 km round trip where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the various grasslands habitats that Burrowing Owls call home and observe other common and rare grasslands birds along the way.

Meeting a national park biologist that is monitoring Burrowing Owls, participating in owl observation, and learning about the owl’s challenges for survival will be the highlights.
