Lakes, rivers and wetlands

Lakes, rivers, and wetlands of Prince Albert National Park are an essential component of the park’s ecological integrity. From tiny bugs to birds to large mammals like moose, aquatic ecosystems support a variety of habitats and life forms in the park. The park’s large, clean lakes, like Waskesiu Lake, are also a popular recreational feature, making them a great place for visitors to connect with nature. Five ecological indicators are monitored to ensure the health of the lakes, rivers and wetlands within the park:
