Located on Sulphur mountain, 1500 m above sea level, Canada’s highest elevation operating hot springs is ready to welcome you. Set against a backdrop of magnificent alpine scenery, this historic bathhouse is the perfect place to relax.
Soak in the steamy hot pool where travellers have come to “take the waters” for over a century.
Start the day off right with a relaxing soak, or ease your tired muscles after an epic day of hiking or skiing. Located 4 km from downtown Banff, the Upper Hot Springs are easily reached by bus, taxi, or car. Swimsuit, locker, and towel rentals available. Gift shop and cafe with terrace on site.

Start your day with a relaxing soak in the hot pool at Banff Upper Hot Springs then dry off and take a trip back in time at the Cave and Basin. Take in the sights, sounds and smells of rich cultural treasure as you learn about Banff’s smallest endangered species, the Banff Springs’ snail, take a stroll on the board walk trails and explore the cave that started it all.
