Elk Island National Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise. With over 250 bird species recorded in the park, bird watching novices and experts alike can check off numerous species in a single trip. The transitional zone between boreal forest and aspen parkland holds several distinct habitats within a small area. This variety of upland habitat and extensive wetlands provides opportunities for many species of birds to forage and breed here.
