Osprey trail
Kouchibouguac National Park
This trail starts near the group camping parking lot at the end of the Loggiecroft road. The trail runs alongside the group campground for a while and then follows the meanders of the Rankin Brook.
The view at the end of the Black River Peninsula is outstanding. It is an interesting trail with stands of various tree species enhancing the scenery along the way. In a few locations, the trail runs along the shore offering a view of the estuary.
In season, several bird species share neighbouring habitats. Ospreys and bald eagles can sometimes be seen diving for fish. Not many people hike this trail, but it’s worth exploring! This trail is marked for snowshoeing during the winter.
