Tweedie trail

Named after the Tweedies who once lived here, the trail provides magnificent views of the Kouchibouguac River, fields, forest, and marshes.

The double loops along this trail allow hikers to either take a shortcut or go the long way around. The banks of the river are ideal for picnics and spring trout fishing.

This point, which juts out into the river, was a busy place at the end of the 19th century. It was the site of a shipyard and several large sailing ships were built in this location.

Look out for poison ivy found along the trail near the river.
